lol why is every post even hinting at criticizing Daniel or the GrapheneOS project getting downvoted in this thread

Was doing the rounds when I noticed one of my comments with very light criticism (if you can even call it that) got entirely flagged, and seems I'm not alone?

GrapheneOS community has groups setup to mass flag and report posts they don't like. See examples from Techlore's video

It's a little ironic Daniel rails on and on about how he's being targeted in a mass-harassment conspiracy against him and the project (usually by "the CalyxOS community", or his old CopperheadOS business partner guy), then.... freely levies a group of his own to mass-flag/downvote critics with the intent to silence them?

"Every accusation is a confession" or something, I guess.

I know right. The victim card as a way to dodge answers is getting a bit boring, to be honest.

As a GrapheneOS user, it's seriously putting me off. (On top of the gaslighting over the years about how every bug must be a hardware fault)

Don't you know enforcing whats best for your citizens clearly erodes trust? Just keep selling off your future for short term gains! Anything else is heckin problematic :(

At least dropbox isn't addictive brainrot lol

Even the peers I know that use TikTok admit they should really be using it less and that it's total slop.

It's truly the purest interpretation of junkfood in internet form

Yep, exactly why I've always supported the adoption of GPLv3. What point is there to FOSS if you cant use it?

More like ~18 and under. The post-2007 zoomers and nearly all alphites are ipad kids, but that drops off dramatically as you get to the older zoomer segment and millennials.

At least, in my anecdotal experience.

Information/control density.

These massive ""finger-friendly"" buttons don't make any sense on a traditional desktop with a mouse, but it makes a ton of sense when you realize the designers were likely designing for mobile and/or touchscreen integration at the same time.

Not GP but I've also had issues with the Signal Desktop app (installed from the Arch repos).

Its overall a little sluggish in general (like most Electron apps though, in fairness) and occasionally clicking and dragging images onto the application will cause it to freeze and eventually crash.

Plus, the general usability issues present in all variants of the signal client (like no easy way of restoring previous messages on a new device).

It's not terrible or anything, but it's just a solid 6/10 application. I personally wish they were more open to 3rd party clients, so I could have something that integrates with my desktop environment a little better and is snappier, like my Matrix clients.

I'll have to try clicking and dragging images onto the Signal application and see if I notice any difference. I usually actually click the button to add an attachment and then browse to it. I'm also on Win11 but I would hope the experience between OSs wouldn't be too drastically different.

Give it a couple years for the inevitable data breach to leak all the details

You see, they had to start at the conclusion and work backwards to somehow justify how they "arrived" at such a take.
