Request the posters of remote jobs to also mention the working hours. I live in India, can I work from 9 to 6 Indian time, or do I have to work according to US time zone?

Serious question - do blind people play video games? How does it work?

Generally speaking, yes, they do. But the answer is, as always, more complex than that. Firstly, some types of games (text adventures, MUDs etc.) are more favorable for enjoynment by visually impaired people. When it comes to the traditional genres, it usually ends up being an issue, e. g. the mainstream games more often than not are not playable, but there's an entire genre of games which do not rely on visual information and instead use audio (usually stereo + might be some HRTF tricks).

I'm blind and play games. I have some residual vision to navigate some GUIs and use OCR to read blocks of text and magnification for a few other things, like detecting small buttons. I tend to pick a game and learn it well and play it a lot. I'm working my way through Disco Elesium right now, it's amazing.

Sounds like a typical "about us" page. I find most of the intro pages very ambiguous as what they do. They're just studded with industrial terms(buzzwords). My reaction is always - "looks amazing, but I don't know anything about them"

Perhaps that's the intent here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

> They manage to deliver in rural India where there are no proper addresses and infrastructure.

'They' here means the transportation, not the marketplace. It comes down to the transportation to make sense of improper addresses and provide wide coverage.

Also, Ekart has a very limited serviceability and flipkart has to rely on third party logistics.

Delhi is not really an intellectual city. Also, forget Delhi if you're a girl.

Given the political, LGBT , and arts movements originate in Delhi and fan to the rest of India, I disagree with you. But I suppose you are entitled to your opinion.

It's one of the few places where pedestrian art markets are actually created - show me the equivalent of Dilli Haat, National Gallery of Modern Art anywhere else in India.

It would be interesting to hear you think that's true about the rest of India as well.

Market salaries for senior engineers in India are at valley level. The startup scene in India rivals only the Valley and I do not think any other country (including Europe ) comes close to the action here.

Most interestingly, as an expat you are not blocked from starting up. This is just the latest of a bunch of expats raising large venture money in India - https://yourstory.com/2018/09/how-a-chinese-entrepreneur-bui... . That in itself puts India miles ahead of locked down ecosystems in China, Europe and several other countries.

Medical care is dirt cheap. People travel to India from the US to get surgeries done which cost less than a day visit to a US clinic. Oh and the food ain't bad.

Haha so true! Forget anything India if you are a girl

Hey! anyone tried it? How's the gameplay/performance?

Game recommendations anyone?

I thought a lot more people had heard of AirConsole!

Obviously the performance is bad for games requiring quick response times but with that said there are a couple of ones you would think wouldn't work with the delay/lag but actually work fine (racing games). The best games are the party games though.

This is literally the first time I've even heard of it.

Interesting! I must be living in a bubble. Among my friends it's on level with Steam. Standard thing to start up at parties and social gatherings and been so for many years.

The standard among some of my friends was to use LogMeIn Hamachi to play LAN multiplayer games over the net. Never tried it myself though.

Wow, throwback! I played a few games over Hamachi with some fun European folks back in 2008 or so.

I work at a AAA games studio as a programmer and I've never heard about AirConsole. Must give it a go at some point.

Thanks! Yes, I was looking forward to playing multiplayer racing games without much setup. Got to try this thing out at the next party :)

Wow - I've never heard of it before, and consider myself relatively knowledgeable when it comes to gaming. How long has it been around?

Since September 2015 - but started very small back then

maybe 3 years? (just a guess)

it's fun and works quite well. I liked the vector racing one, don't remember the name.

Thanks
