Im on a macbook air, but I use a desktop as a service solution. (shells.com)

I have also been craving the same and have found myself utilizing a VM on my phone to access the OS of my liking (Manjaro KDE) and being able to do things that I definitely could not do on my phone when I was away from my desktop. I do think at the end of the day, all we yearn for is having the THE desktop experience on our phone.

I have been getting by with an iPad Air that has cellular and wifi connectivity no matter where i go. I do have an iPhone Pro 11 as well. Basically, I just carry these two devices wherever I go. As both are readily connected, it is very convenient for me.

For my iPad though, I also utilize a VM which I access through the Shells.com app. This allows me to have access to a Linux and Windows machine through my iPad so I have everything all in one.

I tend to be on the go a lot, so its great for me to have access to a device that is "always" connected which is why I like my iPad which has both a cellular and wifi connection. I know I could also do the personal hotspot approach, but its just an extra step that I don't like to deal with.

My Microsoft Surface is on cellular as well Quite a lot of laptops do it.

May not be exactly what you are looking for but Shells.com offers VMs with pre-installed OSs as well as the option to bring in your own image if you want.

This looks neat! Thanks!

Curious to hear what everyone thinks about moving your desktop to the cloud vs. continuing with the traditional route...

Would be interested to see the numbers. Assuming no one has ever seen these?

Would definitely love to see the numbers, but I suspect Tencent is paying their bills mostly

Yeah, my understanding is they were pretty much breaking even after the original introduction of gold when they had a skeleton crew of ops people, a ceo and a couple of backroom staff. They've massively expanded and even yishan forced the company to SF since then, so I'm pretty sure there's no way the extra award types have kept up with that expenditure.

Like I think Reddit of ~2015 was a relatively sustainable lifestyle business, but the traffic numbers were way higher than that so there's the big push to turn it into another facebook/twitter.

I use a Macbook Air and access Windows and my Manjaro machines for work through my Shells account

It's funny how these summaries always look for the most optimistic take. The headline says Bitcoin could become the currency for international trade. The quote down lower says Bitcoin could become a currency for international trade:

> "A focus on global reach and neutrality could see bitcoin become an international trade currency"

It's not clear why Bitcoin, specifically, would be the currency of choice for international trade when any number of stablecoin alternatives (other than Tether) seem far more suitable for actually exchanging money.

If PayPal announced a new international payment system that used shares of PayPal as the underlying currency for transfers, everyone would roll their eyes at the obvious ploy to confuse payments with currency with stock prices. Yet that's essentially what would happen if we used Bitcoin for international payments like this.
