I have an MC68000 User's Manual edited by Prentice-Hall with the HP logo (and an HP 9800 Computer Systems sub-title) that says December 1981.

mine as well (albeit 4th edition, 1984). which is sort of weird because i never saw or touched an M68k HP; i only ever referred to it when debugging stripped binaries on Sun 3s.
