IMO a bit clickbaity of a title --- I thought there was a recent breakthrough in integer factorisation, when in fact this is really attributable to insufficient randomness.
A bigger problem for many readers might be that this is a new post, mainly summarizing research from 2012. So it's not really appropriate to say "(2012)", but it also doesn't announce new discoveries since that time.
