I quit my job in 2018 and I started travelling in November 2019, so not very well on the travel front but striking out of the 9-5 has been the best thing I have ever done. I doubt I could go back.
At first I freelanced, and now I work for a small fully remote digital agency where I just take on projects at the capacity I have at the time and work on them in sprints. There isn't much day to day communication and no one is checking when you're online etc because everyone on the team is in different timezones. It's a dream scenario really, I am very lucky.
