I wonder at what point the insurance cost starts to outweigh just paying for more staff to provide a higher-touch experience for certain categories.

But then, I get the impression that supermarkets are saving on staff by using self-checkout, at the risk of increased casual theft.

Would be nice to see more jobs rather than more insurance pay-outs though.
