We in Ukraine also have this kind of security theater. The air siren is crawling almost every day even in very peaceful areas, and nobody afraids of it. Somebody used to hide every time when hearing siren, but even the most chicken-hearted people stopped to do it because eventually our sirens means nothing for anybody. Of course, military guys love their sirens, maybe sirens are needed for their self-affirmation.
