If this is the price to pay to keep the free part of Reddit alive, it sounds ok as long as they implement it well and handle the conflict-of-interest about moderators in paid subreddits, and disclosing bot activity, advertising and affiliations.

from the sounds of it, it's about them getting a piece of Patreon's pie and keeping paid extra content on their platform instead of off it.


Some of it might also be NSFW content. Patreon has restrictions on such things.
