citizen. The correct demonym in English for a citizen of the United States is American.

Interesting. I'm a citizen of The Netherlands, so assuming a faulty system I searched at 'T' and 'N', but I found it at the correct place, 'Dutch'.

If you follow the format: I'm a <Dutch> citizen. That's actually correct, and what I used intuitively.
